EastEnders’ Vicki Fowler star Scarlett Alice Johnson looks worlds away from her character as she ditches the pixie cut for blonde curls – 18 years after soap exit

She’s famed for playing the troublesome teen daughter of Dirty Den Watts and Michelle Fowler in EastEnders.

And Scarlett Alice Johnson looked worlds away from her character Vicki Fowler as she ditched her brunette pixie cut for wavy blonde curls.

The actress, 37, previously showed off her hair transformation on Twitter and looks almost unrecognisable from the feisty character she played – 18 years after leaving the BBC soap.

Scarlett only played Vicky for a short stint between 2003 and 2004, but the character certainly made an impact during her time on Albert Square.

Most notably, Vicki fell pregnant after a one-night stand with Alfie Moon’s brother Spencer.

While Spencer wanted to keep the baby and her adoptive sister Sharon Watts offered her £10,000 to raise the baby as her own, Vicki ultimately decided to terminate the pregnancy.

The character – previously played by Emma Herry from the character’s birth in 1986 until 1998 and Samantha Leigh Martin from 1988 to 1995 – left Walford for good in 2004, going back to America to live with her mum.

It was later revealed that Vicki had reunited with Spencer, with the two moving to Australia and opening a bar. 

Since leaving the soap behind, Scarlett went on to have a successful TV career, most notably starring as pregnant teen Laura Derbyshire in Pramface.

Her acting credits also include appearances in Pete Versus Life, Call The Midwife, Loaded, Big Bad World, Beaver Falls and The Good Karma Hospital.

While she’s also had roles in films Panic Button and Adulthood. 

Scarlett also married her Pramface co-star Sean Michael Verey in 2017 and they welcomed a child together.

Most recently, she appeared in an episode of Casualty in January this year, with her husband Sean also appearing in the same programme.
