EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Jemima and pals have a thoroughly Bolly night out

Jemima Goldsmith divorced cricket legend turned Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan in 2004, but she has not her lost her love of all things Asian.

The 44-year-old daughter of late billionaire Sir James Goldsmith was at a Bollywood-themed party at Mayfair private members’ club LouLou’s on Thursday night, where she wore a dark-green traditional Sherwani jacket with a cream and gold turban. ‘You can take the girl out of South Asia…’ film producer Jemima joked online.

She was chaperoned to the shindig by her old friend, 42-year-old documentary maker Tim Samuels.

BBC’s Cerys bans music by privately educated stars

Social engineering at the BBC is hitting ludicrous new heights.

BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Cerys Matthews has made the astonishing disclosure that she refuses to play records by pop stars she considers over-privileged.

‘You have to try to listen to everything and take into consideration where one person has had more of a leg-up than somebody else, and act on it,’ she says.

‘You must take into account who’s had the leg-ups. Because if you’ve been through the public school system, you’ve had so many leg-ups.

‘I think it should be more females, but also more people from working-class backgrounds and more people from all walks of life.’

So that rules out the likes of Coldplay, whose lead singer, Chris Martin, went to Sherborne, Radiohead (Abingdon) and the Clash’s Joe Strummer (City of London Freemen’s School).

Unfortunately she needs to police her own playlist. Cerys played the Clash earlier this month. Tsk tsk.

Eliot, 28, who was previously known as Coco, was once asked her sex and replied that she defined herself only as a ‘musician’ because she didn’t believe in ‘any specifications’.

Josephine, 33, walked out on her marriage to musician Mark Ronson last year, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.

(Very) modern manners

People used to be guided by the proverb, ‘Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth’, but these days it seems to have become acceptable to condemn those offering freebies.

‘Scrummy soprano’ Camilla Kerslake, who is married to England rugby star Chris Robshaw, voiced her outrage this week after being sent a garment to make her look slimmer.

‘Today I was sent unsolicited “shapewear” by (I assume) a well-meaning PR person,’ Camilla trilled online. ‘My BMI is 22, I’m a UK size 8.

I exercise regularly and I’m very healthy. I suppose I could lose some weight if I wanted to but why would I?! What is the message they are trying to send to the women of the world with this?’

Camilla, 30, then admitted that she does occasionally put on contouring control underwear, adding: ‘But that is my choice.’

White men have had it, laments Sir Tim Rice

Oscar winner Sir Tim Rice, who wrote the lyrics to Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, seems to be feeling sorry for himself.

‘I mean, white men have had it, really, haven’t they?’ he tells an interviewer from Australia. ‘I’m one of the last ones standing.’

And the 73-year-old lyricist, who describes himself as a ‘proud Brexiteer’, condemns those showbusiness figures such as Robert De Niro who have attacked Donald Trump.

‘Most actors and showbiz luvvies seem to think that their views matter,’ Rice booms. ‘Absolute cobblers — they don’t.

‘So every time one of them gets up and says: “F*** President Trump”, it gets 100,000 votes for President Trump. They’re morons.’
