EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Matchmaker who is believed to have set up Prince Harry and Meghan finds love

Violet von Westenholz, who is said to have set up Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their ‘blind date’ in 2016, has found the recipe for happiness in her own love life.

I hear that the 36-year-old PR director at Ralph Lauren, pictured with Meghan, is enjoying a sizzling romance with Archie Seymour, 30, new openings manager at trendy Japanese/Peruvian restaurant Chotto Matte in London’s Soho.

And Violet — daughter of Prince Charles’s pal, former Olympic skier Baron Piers von Westenholz — is eight months pregnant with their first child. When I ask Archie if he and Violet are engaged, he tells me: ‘No, but it’s all a question of time.’

Oscar-winner Charlize Theron appears to be enjoying her latest role as a Greek warrior a little too much.

I hear that someone on the Home Counties set of the 43-year-old’s forthcoming blockbuster, The Old Guard, had to be taken to hospital after being hit in the throat by Charlize during an axe fight.

‘The injury was quite serious and there was a lot of concern,’ claims my man with the clapperboard.

The Netflix film is being shot mainly at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire, where a blast injured a crew member on the set of the new James Bond film earlier this month. Netflix is keen to play down what a spokesman describes as a ‘very minor incident during a choreographed fight scene’, adding: ‘All parties are fine.’ Let’s hope they’ve buried the hatchet.

Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood’s messy divorce appears to be costing him a lot of dough. Cash in one of his businesses has dipped by £1million as he formalises his split with Alexandra, 54.

Hollywood, 53, has been showering his girlfriend, Summer Monteys-Fullam, 24, with gifts including a £9,000 ruby ring and a £9,000 hot tub. They have moved into an 18th-century farmhouse near the Kent pub where he met the barmaid.

New accounts reveal reserves in his PJH Media business fell from £8.2 million to £7.2 million.

The smart set’s talking about… Tycoon Robert Hanson’s divorce

Sadly, I can disclose that he and his wife, statuesque Masha Markova, an Ivy League graduate 25 years his junior, have separated

Described in his high-spirited youth as ‘the most eligible bachelor in Britain’, financier Robert Hanson (below) declared marriage to be ‘fantastic’ after finally submitting to wedlock aged 49.

But, sadly, I can disclose that he and his wife, statuesque Masha Markova (right), an Ivy League graduate 25 years his junior, have separated.

‘Masha has filed for divorce,’ reveals a friend of the couple, who married in 2010 and have an eight-year-old son, Max.

‘It’s very sad, but no one else is involved.’

One of Robert’s pals tells me: ‘He has always been very generous and devoted to Masha and is a loving and attentive father to Max.’

Eton-educated Hanson, now 58, numbers the late socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, American model Normandie Keith and ingénue Sophie Anderton among his exes.

The son of Margaret Thatcher’s favourite industrialist Lord Hanson, he dazzled guests at George Clooney’s 47th birthday party in New York with his dance-floor footwork.

Masha is a fashion entrepreneur. She left Russia at the age of 12 and has never looked back.

(Very) modern manners

While many of us have unflattering passport pictures, Queen guitarist Brian May says his photo has led to ageism by border officials because it was taken before his shock of dark curly hair turned grey.

He complains that one guard ‘looked at my passport picture, and then at me, and said: “Oh, but the man in this picture has black hair — doesn’t look anything like you.”

‘He added a little snigger, as if he was pleased with his powers of observation and wittiness. I said: “It happens to us all — it will even happen to you, if you’re lucky.” ’

The musician, 71, adds: ‘There’s a serious truth here. We are all massively conscious that we mustn’t behave or speak in ways that are sexist, or racist . . . but ageism is alive and well.’
