Edwina Bartholomew’s stress-free wedding planning system

Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough may have knocked them out of the running for 2018’s wedding of the year.

But on Thursday, Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew, 34, and fiancé Neil Varcoe, 36, insisted they won’t be beaten on planning.

Edwina has managed to develop a system that eliminates stress, but maximises customisation, joking to Who: ‘I’ve knocked all the romance out of it.’

‘I’ve knocked all the romance out of it’: Edwina Bartholomew reveals her stress-free ‘regimented’ wedding planning system with fiancé Neil Varcoe to get ‘the day they really want’

The approach is simple, but ‘very regimented,’ she admitted to the publication ahead of her wedding, which is set to take place over three-days in April.

Edwina implied she kept detailed spreadsheets from day one, allowing her to select and add every single item that will be present on the big day.

So when the journalists get married on their 41 hectare Glen Alice farmstead they’ll relax, knowing every minor detail has been accounted for.

From crockery and cutlery to the friend who’s providing a home-made cake: the second she finds the perfect item, its documented.

Once it’s locked-in, Edwina moves on – decisiveness and confidence has always been the key to her prowess as an interviewer too.

The next step, is to open the system up to a trusted group of family and friends, hence ‘knocking the romance out of it’.

‘People bemoan organising a wedding and get really anxious, but for us, it’s a really lovely time to share with family and friends, and plan the day we really want’.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia last year, Edwina revealed the occasion will be a ‘big party for friends and family. Nothing fancy.’

‘I’ve got Friend making the cake, (with guests including) Uni mates and school friends as bridesmaids and my sister too.’

Lock it in, Eddie! Once an item - from crockery, to menus - is locked-in, Edwina moves on - decisiveness and confidence has always been the key to her prowess as an interviewer too

As for her Sunrise co-stars, Edwina insisted: ‘the whole crew will be there,’ including Sam Armytage, despite recent reports of an on-air tiff.

‘She absolutely will be there lighting up the dance floor,’ the bride-to-be said, ‘we are great mates!’

While the details and planning may be stress-free, Edwina has admitted the budget has gone out the window.

That’s partly because the wedding will take place over the course of an entire weekend.

‘It’s close to $20,000 for portaloos, just to go to the bathroom!’ she bemoaned to The Daily Telegraph last year.

‘It will be like a three-day music festival where we don’t make any money, it just costs a lot’.

Disco Sam! As for her Sunrise co-stars, Edwina insisted: 'the whole crew will be there,' including Sam Armytage who will 'absolutely' be hitting the dance floor, despite reports of an on-air tiff

She quipped: ‘I don’t think we’ll have T-shirts or merchandise, the queues for the bar will be shorter but the queues for the loo will be just as long’.

But the details are set, so as long as Kochie doesn’t see a snake, and the dance floor is polished to Sam’s specifications, it’s going to be the best wedding ever.

After all, it’s an occasion that the pair will only ever experience once –  it’s all part of the plan.
