Police have released eerie footage of an unused garage at a station opening by itself – moments before a broom appears from inside and starts moving around, apparently of its own volition.

The strange incident occurred just after 5:30am on Thursday, April 12th, with NSW Police posting the video recording to their Facebook on Friday the 13th.

Officers reviewed the security footage after finding the garage mysteriously ajar on Thursday.

But the paranormal activity reportedly left the boys in blue with ‘shivers down [their] spines’.

‘Just before dawn, with the car park empty and quiet, a garage, that hadn’t been used in days, suddenly starts to open of its own accord,’ reads the caption attached to the video.

‘With the door half open, a broom flies out, as if propelled by a ‘spirited’ janitor.

‘It stays upright, then falls to the ground and gives one final kick, looking like it’s in the final throes of possession.’

The Facebook video was further dramatised by a ghostly soundtrack and a slow pan zoom that hones in on the strange happenings – which police are still unable to explain.

‘A technician is currently inspecting the door. The ‘possessed’ broom sounds like a job for the Ghostdusters!’ they quipped, before adding an important disclaimer:

‘*Note: even though it’s Friday the 13th, this is actual CCTV footage.*’
