Holt didn’t crack a smile as she arrived at court, wearing a striped grey jumper with checkered pants, flanked by a male companion.

She is also charged with possessing cannabis after police officers allegedly found marijuana on her person following the incident.

Holt pleaded guilty to marijuana possession but further discussions between police and her lawyers will take place regarding her assault charge.

Holt was freed on strict conditional bail after the alleged egging, with court records stating: ‘You must not do any of the following to Scott Morrison … assault or threaten him’.

The incident came just weeks after 17-year-old Will Connolly, who affectionately became known as Egg Boy, smashed an egg on Senator Fraser Anning in response to his Islamophobic comments about the Christchurch massacre.

After allegedly striking him on the head, Holt walked away clutching a half-dozen eggs and told reporters: ‘He deserves it, he deserves a lot worse actually.’

Following the incident, Holt told reporters the egging ‘speaks for itself’ and that ‘he (Mr Morrison) deserves it’.

‘Have you seen his video to Manus Island?,’ she asked.

She appeared to be talking about a video of Mr Morrison she posted to Facebook last year.

The case was adjourned until July 8.
