Chapeltown Royal British Legion FC, in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, are delighted with their little mascots, with all but one of the octet being first-time parents.

The members posed for an adorable picture with their babies – in order of oldest to youngest – at the club’s bar on Ecclesfield Road, Chapeltown, after the youngest of the clan arrived just before Christmas.

Assistant manager Dave Adams, 41, welcomed baby Jaxon on May 1, and manager Adam Todd, 36, became a dad to Edie on December 19.

The team’s top scorer Mitch Savage, 33, already had two children but was also overjoyed with baby Lennie born on November 12.

The group has been excited to see their growing families at matches over the past year.

‘It’s been really nice,’ Adam admitted. ‘There’s a bit of a creche forming on the sidelines at matches now with so many mums and babies out to see their dads play.’

He explained that it all began with ‘a nice surprise’ when one of the players posted a picture of a scan with their news in the club’s group chat.
