Eight-year-old boy selflessly helps an elderly woman up the stairs in heartwarming video

An eight-year-old boy has been captured on camera stopping to help an elderly woman in Georgia.

Riley Duncan recorded the heartwarming video as he watched Maurice Adams Jr hop out of his mom’s car and run over to help the woman up the stairs. 

Duncan posted the video on Facebook with the caption: ‘Thank God for our youth.’ The boy was unaware he was being filmed.

Together, they reach the top of the steps where they embrace as the woman thankshim for his kindness.

The youngster flashes a smile before hopping down the steps and back into his mom’s car. 

His mother, Contricia Hill, told WSB-TV that she, Maurice and his sister had just left a high school graduation when they saw the woman crossing the road.

She said her son immediately asked for permission to help the woman cross the busy road. 

‘He asked, “Can I go out there and help her up the steps?”‘ Hill said.

Together, they reach the top of the steps where they embrace as the woman thanks him for his kindness

Hill said they didn’t get the woman’s name, but she did give her son a message. 

‘She told him that he’s special,’ Hill said. 

Since the video was posted on Tuesday, it has garnered more than 4,200 shares and dozens of comments praising the youngster for having a big heart. 

‘Precious little child with a huge compassionate heart!’ one user wrote on Facebook. 

Another user wrote: ‘He is setting an example to others … way to go young man.’
