The Los Angeles Police Department has canceled an Amber Alert after finding the toddler who was taken by his ‘suicidal’ father on Thursday.
Jaden Jose, 18 months old, was found in Chula Vista on Friday morning and returned to his mother, after police said his father, John Jose, called them and told them he was in San Diego.
‘John took Jaden without the biological mother’s consent and threatened to take Jaden out of state,’ police told the San Diego Union-Tribune in a statement.
‘John also threatened to kill himself.”
Jaden Jose, age 18 months, was abducted in Arleta, California on Thursday by his father, John Jose, who police say is suicidal and threatened to take the boy out of state in a dark blue 2004 Audi with the license plate number 7ZVX343

John Jose (pictured) is described as a 30-year-old Filipino, standing five-feet-five-inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds
He was ‘taken by his suicidal father, John Jose, at 3.30pm from Arleta, CA,’ LAPD HQ tweeted early on Friday.
The father threatened to leave California with the child, and to take his own life, police told KTLA.
The father then took the child without the mother’s consent, police said.
Jaden was abducted from the 9500 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Pacoima, between Branford and Montague streets, just two blocks from Interstate 5.
Police said the father called them just before they issued the Amber Alert late on Thursday, telling them he was in San Diego, but did not specify his location.
The police first were led to a home in the 3000 block of Bonita Mesa Road in Bonita, but the father and son were not there.
The two were ultimately located in the Chula Vista area, south of San Diego, overnight on Friday.
The boy was taken to Polinsky Children’s Center in San Diego and reunited with his mother on Friday, NBC reported.
It’s not clear whether the father will face charges related to the abduction.
