Eleven teens and an adult with brass knuckles are arrested after massive brawl breaks out among students on a high school courtyard

A Florida high school was put on lockdown after a massive brawl during school hours.

Police and paramedics responded to Atlantic High School in Port Orange on Thursday afternoon, after multiple fights broke out in the school’s courtyard. 

Police say that 11 juveniles and an adult male, who showed up wearing brass knuckles, were arrested in the melee.

The adult was charged with trespassing and carrying a concealed weapon after ‘coming on campus with a parent in response to a report of a possible fight,’ the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The adult is believed to have been carrying brass knuckles, but no other weapons were involved, WESH-TV reported.

Police say that no students were seriously injured in the brawl. One school administrator was transported to the hospital after complaining of chest pains.

No further information was immediately available about what started the fight.

The school was placed on a Code Red lockdown as a precautionary measure.

The lockdown was lifted about an hour later, and Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood responded to the scene to help coordinate with anxious parents.

Outside of the school, there were scenes of children reuniting with tearful parents who heard of the lockdown and feared the worst.
