Elizabeth Hurley and her ‘sister in rare bikini snap

Elizabeth Hurley shared a rare snap of her ‘glorious’ sister as they posed in matching bikinis on Instagram on Friday to promote her swimwear line.

The 55-year-old swimwear designer wowed in a pink paisley triangle bikini which had a ring detail at the front as she put her arm around her older sibling, Kate Curran.

Kate, 57, wore a matching two-piece in pink which had a gold chain detail at the cleavage.

Elizabeth wrote: ‘Me and my glorious sister during lockdown this summer, flying the Elizabeth Hurley Beach flag.

‘When we were growing up, we were always dressed in identical clothes but in pink or blue, so we secretly still love matching.’

Her good friend David Furnish, 58, wrote in the comments: ‘We love the Strumpette!! ❤️❤️.’

Elizabeth and Kate’s parents are Angela, 79, and army major Roy Leonard, who sadly passed away in 1996. They also have a younger brother called Andrew.

She told Hampshire Life in January 2019: ‘I learned a lot in my early childhood. My father was an Army officer and we were a happy family with my older sister and my brothers. A lot of my friends had divorced parents but nothing like that happened in our family, I am glad to say. We all got on pretty well.’

Elizabeth went to Kempshott Infant School followed by Kempshott Junior School and then the Harriet Costello School.

She said: ‘My school days were a little odd I think because I wanted to be like other people but some thought that I talked posh because my parents had insisted on us learning to speak properly. I had friends, but somehow I didn’t quite fit in with the way most people were. I suppose I became a bit of a rebel.’

Despite her rebellious punk past, she added: ‘I did keep up my studies though and carried on to A-levels in England, psychology and sociology. So the rebellion was not total. I took ballet classes as well when I was younger but I didn’t complete it. Everything seemed to go well for the first couple of years but then I seemed to fall out of favour and the boys were mostly gay so I kind of fell away.’

In 2011, she said her punk style was a bid to ward off men.

She told The Sun: ‘I think what happened is that so many men took an interest, I wanted to make myself look as ghastly as possible.

‘I did not want them to whistle any more. That was part of my rebellion — and fitting in with the others.

‘I finally realised I was not going to get work unless I took out my nose ring and dyed my hair black. I’m afraid the nose ring actually went through my nose, much to every make-up artist’s fury in the first few years.’

Earlier this year, Elizabeth moved nine members of her family and friends into her £6million Hertfordshire mansion during the first UK lockdown.

Son Damian, 18, mother Angela, Kate, and her son Miles were among the nine, as well as a friend who was considered high risk.

Elizabeth told Hello! in April: ‘We feel like the family in the Seventies TV show The Waltons.

‘There are nine of us. I have my whole family here, including my mother, an aunt and a friend who has severe respiratory problems.

‘If it weren’t for the fact that we’re terrified of losing loved ones, we’re actually quite happy cocooned up together. The TV isn’t allowed to be turned on until 6pm so we don’t turn into couch potatoes.’

She also told Lorraine her household took things back to basics for lockdown, explaining: ‘We all stayed safe and then we had to just get on, find a way to make it work.

‘There was manual labour, not allowed TV until 6PM. We were all outside – we had beautiful weather in the UK – sweeping up, clipping, attacking things with a chainsaw, making the outside beautiful, growing veg…

‘We all got healthier. We ate quite a lot but there was the manual labour!’

Liz added: ‘We were very nervous about health, there were elderly women and a friend with low immunity who had to be kept safe. We were just nervous and scared the whole time’.

In 2018, Kate’s son Miles was ‘millimetres from death’ when he was stabbed in London. Elizabeth recalled how he lost six pints of blood after being attacked following a collision in his mother’s Fiat 500, but he has since recovered.

He shared a sweet photo of his mother on aunt on Instagram back in 2017. Kate’s instagram account @thekatiehurley is private.

Kate is fiercely protective of Elizabeth and back in 2003, she spoke out against rumours that Elizabeth was a marriage wrecker when she started dating Arun Nayar, 55, who she was later married to from 2007-2011.

She insisted the relationship began after his seven-year marriage to model Valentina Pedroni was over and denied claims that Elizabeth and Valentina were good friends.

While Elizabeth has raised in the eyebrows in the past that her son Damian, 18, takes many of her bikini photos for Instagram, she recently said Kate does too.

She told Hello! ‘He doesn’t take all my bikini photos. Some of them are professional, some of them are by my sister.’

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Elizabeth was once again giving her followers their daily dose of bikini action as she shared her latest sizzling snap on social media.

The Bedazzled actress looked showstopping in a coral two-piece which showed off her taut abs to perfection.

Elizabeth looked incredible in the swimwear from her eponymous line.

She let her brunette tresses fall in loose waves over her shoulder for the ultimate beach babe look and smouldered into the camera.
