Elizabeth Park school stabbing: Student rushed to hospital with wounds to the torso after alleged attack by another child

A student at a Catholic primary school has been rushed to hospital after allegedly being stabbed by another student. 

The incident occurred around 9am on Friday when South Australia Police were called to St Thomas More School in Elizabeth Park, north of Adelaide.

South Australia police said a female student was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in an ambulance after she suffered injuries to her torso.    

A student was allegedly stabbed by another student at a primary school in Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Friday just before 9am

She is believed to have suffered non-life threatening injuries. 

The student who allegedly carried out the attack, was detained by officers and a knife was seized by police. 

The school was briefly placed into lockdown. 

South Australia Police said there are no further risks to students following the alleged incident.
