Australian fashion and beauty influencer Elle Ferguson recently shared a genius hack which ensures a beautifully even bottle tan that could be mistaken for the real deal.
Speaking to Whimn, Cosmopolitan’s ‘Woman of the Year for Social Media Fashion’ shared the little known step she ritually follows during every false tanning session – and the best part is, it won’t cost you a cent.

While we are all familiar with the importance of exfoliating and moisturising, Ms Ferguson takes things a step further by rinsing her body in ice cold water before applying her liquid gold.
‘It closes…your skin so when you apply tan, it doesn’t sit in your pores – it glides on smoothly for an even coat and gives you a golden glow,’ she told Whimn.
Ms Ferguson is regarded as an expert in the fake tanning industry, with the self-proclaimed ‘digital entrepreneur’ launching her eponymous beauty brand, Elle Effect, earlier this year.
