In news that will surely excite his fans, Elton John has extended the Australian leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

It was announced on Friday that the 72-year-old music icon had added six extra dates to his string of sell-out shows.

New concert dates have been added for Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Coffs Harbour, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast.

The new tickets will go on sale on June 25, with Elton set to perform a staggering 32 shows in Australia alone.

His Australian tour will now span five months, kicking off in Perth in November, and ending in Sydney in March next year.

The Tiny Dancer singer will then move onto New Zealand, where he will continue his tour.

‘We’re thrilled to be adding even more dates to Elton’s final tour,’ promoter Michael Chugg in a press statement, as reported by News.com.au. 

‘Demand has been absolutely incredible, we know the Rocketman is going to create magic memories for Australia and New Zealand when he arrives later this year!’ 

Elton’s Sydney show will take place at the newly rebuilt Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, and he’ll be the very first musical artist to perform there.
