Emily Blunt would ‘love’ to do a Devil Wears Prada sequel

While florals for spring aren’t exactly groundbreaking, the news that Emily Blunt would ‘love’ to work on a Devil Wears Prada sequel is.

The 35-year-old actress shared the news on Tuesday night while appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

‘Is there truth to the rumor that there might be another Devil Wears Prada?’ asked Seth, to which Emily replied: ‘I mean, I would love it.’

The mother-of-two first played the snarky fashion magazine assistant, Emily Charlton, in the 2006 film alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.

And her interview with Seth isn’t the only time she’s expressed interest in reprising her fashionable character.

She told Entertainment Tonight last month: ‘I mean if everyone wanted to do it, it would be cool. I’d be down.’

Emily further explained to Seth that there’s even more reason to step back into her stilettos and join the cast in a sequel.

‘You know Stanley Tucci is my brother-in-law?’ said the starlet.

She went on to detail just how Stanley, who played art director Nigel Kipling in the film, came to be her relative.

‘He like wormed his way into the family. We met on the first ever Devil Wears Prada and I just loved him so much,’ said Emily. ‘He was at our wedding and then met my sister.’

And as far as fans of the hit movie, which is based on the 2003 novel of the same name, Emily has one superfan incredibly close to her – husband John Krasinski.

‘There was one day when it was on and I said it was so good and Emily said, “Have you seen this movie?” said Jon in an interview with E! News.

‘I said, “A lot of times.” She said, “That’s so sweet, but how many times?” Luckily, we had been dating for about a year so there was a lot of trust built up and I said, “Like 75.”

But sequel or not, Emily and Jon have been busy promoting their newest film together, A Quiet Place, which Jon directed and co-wrote.

The loved-up pair attended the New York premiere of the film, which hits theaters on Friday, on Monday night.

A Quiet Place is a horror flick in which John and Emily play a couple struggling to protect themselves and their two children from a paranormal evil.

‘I just thought the concept was so ambitious, so unique. It was sort of bigger than the fact that we’re a married couple in a movie together,’ said Emily to Seth.

And while the actress has a number of fans, she knows two people that aren’t – her and Jon’s two children, Hazel, four, and Violet, two.

‘My daughters in general loathe to see me on screen, in general,’ joked Emily.

But according to the Mary Poppins Returns star, their ‘lame’ initial meeting was nothing like the plot line of most romantic comedies.

‘I was in a restaurant. He was in the restaurant. I was sitting with a mutual friend,’ explained Emily. ‘My friend goes, “Oh my God. There’s my friend John.” And that was it.’

That first meeting was in 2008 and the couple married two years later.
