Scare fest: Emma Roberts, 31, steps back into the horror genre with her latest film, Abandoned, which had its first official trailer drop on Friday

Off the top of the trailer, the couple appear to be on the verge of buying their dream home while out house-hunting.

Curious about why the property had been on the market ‘for a while’, Sara inquires about its long-time availability.

It’s at this point that the couple learn of the home’s checkered past which includes being the scene of a suicide and double homicide.

In an unexpected response, Sarah reassures the real estate agent of their interest in the property and says: ‘You know, I don’t mind a little haunting.’

As the story unfolds, those words may very well come back to haunt them.

Sara’s psychological state comes into question when she’s seen during a session with what appears to be her psychiatrist.

This calls into question whether she’s actually experiencing a haunting, or whether her mind has begun to play tricks on her.

A neighbor, played by Shannon, informs the couple of some of the home’s history and the two children who used to live there.
