Emotional Lauren Brant eviscerates Barry Hall as she breaks down over motherhood

Lauren Brant has publicly complained about her boyfriend Barry Hall, less than two months after she welcomed their second child.

In a scathing Instagram post on Tuesday night, the 30-year-old mother-of-two broke down over the stress of motherhood after a seemingly innocuous comment from Barry tipped her over the edge.

‘As I left home today for my six-week check up, Barry said to me, “Enjoy the time to yourself”,’ she began.

She continued: ‘Because now apparently, as a mum of two, “time to myself” is a situation where I get to drive in the car with one child instead of two (yay for me!)

‘Have a little lie down… so my birth wounds and lady parts can be poked and prodded (with a surprise Pap smear).

‘Have a nice chat… about how to poo postpartum and massage infected ducts in my breast (but at least it was another grown-up human).

‘And enjoy the quiet drive home in the rain… oh, but with a quick emergency stop to feed a crying baby!’

Lauren didn’t stop there, with the former Hi-5 star angrily referencing Barry’s comment yet again and how frustrated it made her feel.

She added: ‘Yes, I was very rejuvenated after my “time to myself”, so much so that I managed to have full energy to look after my other sick child stress free, bath the kids, make dinner, clean the house and work through my list of chores that have been sitting on my table for eight weeks!

‘I bloody wish! I’m crashing early, without dinner, pretty broken… but wait, what’s that? Oh, Houston is crying again because I have to hold him 24/7!’

She concluded: ‘I can’t wait until the next time I get “time to myself!” YAY.’

Lauren and Barry welcomed their first child, a boy named Miller Hall, in 2017. In May this year, Lauren gave birth to another son, Houston.

This isn’t the first time that Lauren has revealed she is struggling with motherhood.

Just days after Houston’s birth, she posted a photo to Instagram of herself hysterically crying after her parents, who had flown to Melbourne for Houston’s birth, returned home to the Gold Coast.

‘It was the hardest moment of my life moving away from my family on the Gold Coast. Taking Miller away from his cousins and family who he loves so much,’ she wrote.

‘I did not expect to be so heartbroken all over again that they had to leave. It feels like having two children makes the pain twice as bad,’ she continued.

‘I’m just sad. I was worried I would it’d feel this way after having to move our whole lives and having a second baby, without my support network.’

Lauren and Barry first met on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015 but didn’t start dating until much later.

Within months of debuting their relationship, Lauren announced she was pregnant with their first child.

In May, while Lauren was pregnant with Houston, she publicly complained about Barry in another Instagram post, criticising him for not being romantic enough.

She wrote: ‘My idea of a date night? Take a stroll, hand in hand, connect on a cosmic level – make up for one month of limited quality time in one hour. Talk about everything and anything, fall in love all over again.

‘Barry’s idea of a date night? Go watch a movie (any movie just as long as he can order the junk food), in Gold Class so he is comfortable in his single chair and doesn’t have to touch me.

‘Order almost every item from the confectionery bar, make jokes about the movie afterwards, give me a kiss on the head when we get home, pop his headphones in and watch UFC! How are we so different?’

Last year, the couple went through a difficult period when Barry was sacked from his job at Triple M for making lewd comments about another man’s wife.

Shortly after, Barry and Lauren left Melbourne for the Gold Coast so they could spend time together as a family away from the spotlight.

Reflecting on their past struggles, Lauren told The Daily Telegraph in December that they were struggling financially in addition to dealing with the public backlash.

‘We had some really hard months because it wasn’t just a time where we were out of work, it was a time when we had to watch what the nation was saying, knowing that is not who we are,’ she said.

‘[Barry] being out of work spurred us both on. We both had to re-evaluate our lives.’

The former AFL champion was sacked on the spot from Triple M in June 2018 after he made a crude and sexist comment about co-host Leigh Monatgna’s pregnant wife.

The men were discussing how Leigh’s wife had recently undergone a medical procedure known as a ‘sweep’ in order to induce labour.

Barry ‘joked’ that the male doctor behaved in a sexually inappropriate way, which sparked laughter from the other panelists, but led to his firing.

Lauren publicly defended him a month after the incident, sharing a post to Instagram in which she pleaded with trolls to stop attacking her family.

‘Barry fully admits that it was unacceptable, completely regrets it and has done his best to apologise for the offence he has caused,’ she wrote in July 2018.

‘He has lost his job because of it, our son and myself are being attacked (which is a whole other conversation, because how is verbally abusing a woman and innocent child an accepted response to someone being accused of being disrespectful to women?) and is getting labelled as something he is not.’

In August, Barry told Channel Nine’s 60 Minutes that Internet trolls had ‘bullied’ him and threatened to hurt his young son after ‘one stupid little comment’.
