She’s best known for playing the tough Giselle Barker on Empire, as well as recent guest roles on Chicago P.D. and Younger.

Parker was also a series regular on Time After Time during the sci-fi series one-season run.

And in 2015 the beauty hosted her own short-lived chat show with husband Boris Kodjoe, The Boris & Nicole show.

Back in May it was reported the SATC reboot would feature three Black women as leads, in addition to characters from the LGBTQ community.

Both SJP and showrunner Michael Patrick King reportedly ‘didn’t want to tell a story with an all-white cast’ this time around, noting ‘it’s not reflective of New York,’ according to TVLine.

Earlier this month non-binary actor Sara Ramirez joined the cast as character Che Diaz.

Sarah, Cynthia and Kristin all starred on Sex And The City from 1998 to 2004, and they also appeared in two sequel films.

Absent from the shoot was original castmate Kim Cattrall, who passed on the opportunity to reprise her role as seductress Samantha Jones amid her public feud with Parker.

Explaining why she would not return, Kim said in 2019: ‘It’s a “no” from me. You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun.’

SJP has denied any rivalry, saying she had ‘never uttered an unkind, unsupportive, unfriendly word.’
