In January Jussie was accused of faking an attack, in which he was assaulted with a noose and threatened with racial and homophobic slurs.
Smollett is now being sued by the City of Chicago, for costs accrued in the investigation.

And FOX crews were seen filming at the same spot the incident was said to have occurred in Chicago, in an apparent trolling of the city.
The scene was literally moments away from Jussie’s Chi apartment complex.
While none of the show’s talent was present, the full crew made it clear the show would be filming there.

During the turmoil of his alleged assault and involvement, Jussie was cut out of the final five episodes of Empire’s fifth season.
His character will be ‘on his honeymoon’ during the sixth and final season of the show, the Wrap reported.
Though he won’t be featured his co-stars are said to have wanted him to return and have supported him through the ordeal.
