Jimmy Anderson has notched his 650th Test wicket after striking in the first over of New Zealand’s second innings at Trent Bridge.
The 39-year-old capitalised on piece of lax defence by Tom Latham, who misjudged a leave which clattered into his wicket.
Anderson is the third-highest wicket taker of all time in Test cricket history, behind only Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Shane Warne (708).

Earlier in the day, England’s finished their first innings on 539 to end their magnificent fightback during the second Test at Trent Bridge.
Runs continued to flow early on day four of the second LV= Insurance Test, with centurion Joe Root producing an outrageous stroke off Tim Southee.
Fresh from scoring 383 on the the third day, England continued piling into the Black Caps attack.
Ben Foakes hit three boundaries in his first eight balls of the morning, but it was Root who produced a jaw-dropping contribution at the start of the third over.
Already on 163 overnight and facing up to Tim Southee’s 80mph seam, he reversed the bat and scooped the ball over his shoulder for a remarkable six over third man.
Foakes sprinted to 50 shortly after, with England on 512 for five in reply to 553.

Root’s outstanding innings came to an end on 176 when the persistent Trent Boult hung the ball outside off stump with pace off the ball.
Root leant into it and chipped to cover, leaving England 516 for six.
Stuart Broad came in at number eight looking for quick runs, but was brilliantly caught for nine.
Attempting to flay the spin of Michael Bracewell, he got a thick outside edge which Daryl Mitchell grabbed brilliantly with a one-handed take to his left.
New Zealand grabbed their third of the morning when Matthew Potts ran out Foakes for 56, initially calling the single before stopping to leave the wicketkeeper well short of his ground.

With the deficit still sitting at 26, there was work to do for the tail to achieve parity.
Boult completed a fine five-wicket haul when he hooped a yorker towards Potts’ toes and cleaned the tail-ender up for three to make it 530 for nine.
The innings ended when James Anderson was stumped off Bracewell’s bowling, leaving England 14 behind on 539 all out. The spinner returned figures of three for 62 on debut, giving some encouragement to opposite number Jack Leach.
New Zealand’s slender lead left all results in play, but England made a big move in the right direction when Anderson clean bowled visiting captain Latham with the fifth ball of the innings.
