This perky tawny owl was caught on camera cooling off in a midday bath in the sizzling heat.

The airborne critter is nocturnal and so is very rarely seen out and about during the day time.

Even more rare is the sight of one taking a bath in the sunshine.

In the adorable footage is is seen to flap its wings in an attempt to clean them.

The wide eyes bird looks deeply content as it shakes its wings in the makeshift bathtub.

Fuller’s detailed images have been used by the RSPB and National Trust and exhibited in galleries across the world.

His own gallery in North Yorkshire is visited by as many as 7,000 people each year.
