Enraged’ man attacks cars with an axe after downing FORTY-EIGHT cans of beer in New Zealand

  •  Karl Edgar Littlejohn, 38, became enraged when a friend asked for his car back
  •  Went home and downed two packs of 24 beer cans before going to hit friend
  •  He drew for an axe and smashed up all the windows of the Subaru and a Nissan

A man has plead guilty to downing 48 beers before attacking two cars with an axe in New Zealand.

Karl Edgar Littlejohn, 38, entered his plea to the charges of weapon possession and intentional damage at the Dunedin District Court on Wednesday.

A friend had lent Littlejohn a car six months earlier which the 38-year-old had not yet returned.

When he came to collect the car, Littlejohn became ‘enraged,’ went home and downed 48 beers, before returning to the scene to hit his friend.

New Zealand Police, pictured above, arrested a man for going on an axe rampage after drinking 48 cans of beer. The man drove the axe into a friend’s Subaru after he asked for it back

The drunk man then went to find an axe from his home in Balchuta and smashed all the windows of the Subaru before turning the weapon on a nearby Nissan.

He then chased the victims down the street.

The New Zealand Herald reported that it wasn’t until the police caught him that he revealed just how many beers he drank.

He was given a 12 month supervision order and made to pay £776 in damages.

Littlejohn has lead police on two high speed chases in the past.
