Erin Molan has broken her silence on the horrific fall that kept her out of work, amid reports she had been ‘sidelined’ by Channel Nine due to a ‘feud’ with Andrew Johns.

The sports reporter tripped and fell down a set of stairs during the night as she fetched a bottle for her daughter Eliza nearly two weeks ago, breaking her arm and shoulder.

Molan told 2GB Radio on Sunday night she had ‘broken the arm bone off entirely’.

Molan, who was in hospital for 10 days, said her inability to work left her feeling uneasy.

‘It doesn’t sit well with me on any level, not being able to work, but it was a much needed rest, advised by doctors, and a fair stint in hospital as well,’ she said.

The 37-year-old’s absence from Nine and her radio show came amid claims she had been sidelined by the network due to reported feud with Johns.

The 45-year-old ‘doesn’t like working with her’, a television source told Daily Mail Australia earlier this month.

That source said Johns’s biggest gripes were that Molan giggled and spoke over him and other Nine personalities when they were talking about football.

Another source close to Johns said he did not know when the problems between the pair began but the footballing great would not be backing down.

Channel Nine spokeswoman Vic Buchan said claims Molan was sidelined by the network during the NRL Grand Final were ‘clearly another beat up about Erin’.

She told Sunday Confidential: ‘Erin hosted the first three hours of the (grand final) coverage on the day from the ground and did all the post-show interviews with the families of the winning teams.’

Molan has now returned home to rest and will continue to miss work duties until she’s made a full recovery, Nine News reported.

Pictures show Molan bound to her hospital bed and an X-Ray reveals the damage to her broken shoulder.

Nine News sports presenter Cam Williams acknowledged Molan’s absence during the 6pm bulletin on Sunday evening.

‘And finally, our best wishes go out to Erin Molan,’ he said.

‘Erin has spent the past 10 days in hospital with bad breaks to her arm and hand after falling down stairs as she was getting a bottle.

‘Thankfully she’s now resting at home.’
