He wrote on Twitter: ‘Re: Haaland

‘I understand Chelsea are preparing a “BIG offer” to check out and challenge Dortmund’s “he will stay here next season”.

‘The understanding is that Dortmund won’t say no to 175 million euro.’

Zorc has repeatedly insisted Haaland is not for sale but he was able to share a joke with reporters when questioned about the forward’s absence on Monday.

When Sky Sports Germany asked where Haaland was, Zorc smiled and joked: ‘He’s already in England!’

Haaland, who has scored 57 goals in 59 games since joining Dortmund, is understood to be valued at over close to £150m

The striker has three years left on his contract but he has a release clause which becomes active in 2022, meaning clubs can buy him for as little as £66million.

Chelsea are looking to strengthen their attack in order to challenge Premier League champions Manchester City.

Thomas Tuchel has prioritised signing a striker with Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abrahm possibly set to move on before the end of the transfer window.

The Blues scored 25 goals less than Pep Guardiola’s side last season with £53m signing Timo Werner unable to hit heights expected of him in his first campaign.

Haaland has already scored 102 goals in his club career and has seven in 12 for Norway. Chelsea are not the only club to have been linked with Haaland. City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all thought to have an interest.
