Is the fairytale over for Dick and Angel Strawbridge?

The couple, whose Escape To The Chateau series was dropped by Channel 4 after reports of clashes, have applied to wind up their castle company.

Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson Limited was set up in 2017 but has applied for a ‘voluntary strike off’ from the register at Companies House.

The application was signed on May 9 by directors Dick, 63, and Angel, 45, real name Angela.

First notice was given on May 23, and the company will be dissolved within two months of that date.

All events at the chateau – such as ‘garden days’ and ‘tours under the stars’ are marked as unavailable.

The site, which was previously rented out for weddings at £38,000 a time, is also now not available for nuptials.

The couple said in an interview last November they had wanted to ‘go out on a high’ and felt finishing filming the shows, which ran from 2016 to December last year, was right for their family.

This followed accounts of ‘aggressive and abusive’ behaviour by the pair towards crew, reported by The Times in 2021.

However, Angel told The Daily Telegraph their entire team would say that Dick was ‘completely chivalrous’. In May, Channel 4 announced they were cutting ties with the pair for good after a ‘review’.

In a statement on Instagram last month, the couple wrote: ‘It was a Strawbridge Family decision early last year to conclude Escape To The Chateau.’

A source close to the couple said their ‘company structure is reviewed from time to time and rationalized as necessary to reflect… underlying business’.
