Eshay girls refuse to pay at Get Polished nail salon in the Newcastle’s Waratah – instead assaulting a worker and telling him to ‘go back to his country’
Police are searching for two teenage ‘eshays’ who refused to pay their bill at a family-run nail salon, assaulted a worker, racially abused him and fled the scene.
The female duo visited the Get Polished nail salon in the Newcastle suburb of Waratah about 2:30pm on Sunday, where they requested two complete sets of acrylic nails costing $140.
They then refused to hand over the money for the service according to staff, blaming the lack of mobile service in the store for the reason they couldn’t pay.
The two fled and when a staff member caught up with them, they kicked him in the stomach and him slapped in the face, before telling the man of Asian descent to ‘go back to your own country’.
In footage posted to the Salon’s Facebook page, one of the girls can be heard saying ‘try and catch me on this you f***ing dopey c**t’ while riding away on a scooter.
‘That’s what I thought mother f***er,’ she told the worker.
‘They were being rude … (The male staff member) was very upset,’ owner of the store Lee told News.com.au.
In a post to the salon’s Facebook page, they claim the two girls had ‘provoked and dared our employee to fight back if he dared and said that they were underage’.
‘We are a small family business trying to earn a living and would like to alert the community and other small businesses so that this does not happen to them,’ the post reads.
‘We hope that sharing this post they will stop this awful and unacceptable behaviour.’
Lee said her frustration is not about the money – it’s about the lack of respect.
‘I’m angry because it’s happened a lot,’ Lee said.
‘Teenagers know their power and they can get away with everything.
‘Pressing charges is not going to affect them at all, I know that because there was exactly the same incident with my staff [in another store].
‘They ran away and my staff caught them and they still got away.’

Numerous locals commented on the salon’s Facebook post to detest the girls’ actions towards the staff.
‘This kind of action is unacceptable, scornful, disrespect and such an embarrassment,’ one local wrote.
‘They are just plain awful and they and their parents should be ashamed,’ a second wrote.
NSW Police have released descriptions of two girls they believe can aid with enquiries, while urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
‘The first woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance with blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a black ‘Champion’ hoodie, with grey trackpants, and black and white ‘slides’,’ a statement from NSW Police reads.
‘The second woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance with dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a grey ‘Ellesse’ jumper, with dark pants and white ‘Onitsuka Tiger’ sneakers.’
