Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is set to win his first Scotland start against England at Wembley.

Sportsmail understand that boss Steve Clarke is ready to spring a surprise by including the 20-year-old from the off.

Gilmour was uncapped when called up to Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad last month, since earning two caps as a substitute.

But Clarke is set to put his faith in the ball-playing schemer when the Scots bid for their first points of Euro 2020 against Gareth Southgate’s men.

The visitors are also likely to start with Southampton’s Che Adams in attack, while Kieran Tierney will return to the defence after recovering from injury.

Scotland lost their Euro 2020 opener 2-0 against Czech Republic, while England ran out 1-0 winners against Croatia thanks to a goal from Raheem Sterling.
