As the name suggests, the dish replicates the look of a honeycomb as cannelloni pasta is used in a rather unconventional way.
To make the mouthwatering meal, place the cooked cylindrical pasta vertically in a greased pan and fill the middle with mozzarella sticks.
The scoop the Bolognese sauce on top along with additional cheese and cook in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.

On TikTok the term ‘honeycomb pasta’ has been searched for more than 10.3 million times and hundreds of users have shared demonstrative videos outlining how to make the creative meal.
Australian food and lifestyle brand Delicious was among the users who posted a video and went viral within one week.
‘When we saw the honeycomb pasta recipe, we knew we had to try it for themselves,’ the voiceover said.

How to make ‘honeycomb’ pasta
- 1 box uncooked rigatoni or cannelloni pasta
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 3 cups Bolognese sauce
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups fresh mozzarella
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
Cook pasta al dente and strain
Grease a nine-inch spring pan with butter and ladle some Bolognese sauce
Stand pasta noodles on end, one next to each other, until pan is filled
Top with some shredded mozzarella and fill each noodle with a small piece of fresh mozzarella
Add sauce on top and sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top to fill holes and gaps in an even layer
Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake 20 minutes
Remove foil and cook another 10 minutes
