Former porn star Mia Khalifa has joked she will ‘defect to Russia’ if World War III breaks out in the fallout of the escalating tensions between Iran and the US.
The Lebanese-American posed a picture of herself on Twitter wearing a Russian eagle T-shirt, adding she might move to Moscow ‘just in case’.
Khalifa told her three million followers her plan amid fears of a major war erupting between the US and Iran following the assassination of Major-General Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike on his convoy at Baghdad airport on Friday.
Since the death of the leader of the elite Iranian Quds Force, the threat of the political crisis developing in all-out war has intensified with Tehran warning it will launch a strike on US soil.
As #WWIII began trending on social media not long after the death of Soleimani and a war of words between the Washington and Tehran, Khalifa joked she may have to switch her base to Iran’s ally, Russia.

Khalifa explained she picked the shirt when Russian hockey star Alexander Ovechkin was drafted to her favourite team, the Washington Capitals.
She added: ‘Emergency defection kit was collected when Ovechkin was drafted. You dummy’s are too late.’
Khalifa, who now works as a sports presenter, previously said she was surprised her hijab scene in particular caused anger and added that it was meant to be satirical.
She is now a co-host for sports talk show, SportsBall, and has now relocated to Austin, Texas.
