She recalled how husbands would come in and buy their wives perfume for Christmas, have it wrapped nicely, and then ask for the same fragrance for their mistresses
In between bites of her salad, she recalled how men would come in around the holidays to pick up their wives their favorite Chanel products, saying they ‘had it all on file.’
‘A few of the husbands that would come in, they would come in and buy their wife her favorite fragrance. They’d get it wrapped really nicely — and then they would buy the same fragrance for their mistress,’ she claimed.
‘Because guess what? They didn’t want to leave their mistress’ house smelling like a different woman.’
Hill explained that after working there for a while and getting to know the regulars, it was easy to figure out which husbands were cheating. For whatever reason, they were also all allegedly drawn to the same scent.
‘Funny enough, it was always, always the same fragrance,’ she noted. It was Coco Mademoiselle perfume. It was never No. 5 because people would come in and buy that for their mom. It was never the Chance perfumes. It was always Coco Mademoiselle.’
‘Us counter girls, we always have the tea,’ she concluded the video.

Hill’s story struck a chord with other sales assistants who were inspired to share their own stories about philandering customers.
Hill also noted that they always picked the same fragrance: Coco Mademoiselle
‘I worked in high-end jewelry for years. Husbands did the same thing. It was [always] funny to see the [mistress] come in after Christmas and exchange it, one person remembered.
‘I used to work in fine jewelry and had husbands buying their mistresses the same pieces too!’ someone else agree, while another added, ‘I never knew how many married men were having affairs until I worked at a jewelry store.’
Others said they have heard similar accounts from Victoria’s Secret employees and personal stylists. Some people who work in the service industry also claimed that men like to take their wives and mistresses to the same restaurants and bars.
‘Us bartenders too. Sunday brunch with the wife and kids, lunch breaks, and cocktail hour with the mistress,’ one person explained.
Hill’s story struck accord with other sales assistants, bartenders, and servers who have had similar experiences with philandering customers
‘I [waitressed] for years and the [number] of men that would dine with their wives during the week and mistresses during the weekend AT THE SAME PLACE,’ someone else shared.
Another added, ‘I worked at VW dealership in the ’90s. I had a few men cash purchase cars. Delivered with bows to apartment lots. Never their house.’
Hill admitted in the comments that she was often tempted to rat out her cheating customers and make it look like an accident, but she resisted.
‘I knew some these wives pretty well after years,’ she explained. ‘So many [times] I too wanted to “slip up.”‘
