‘It has the power to transport, which shares a synergy with wearing beautiful jewellery,’ said Zena, who famously crafted Kyle and Tegan Sandilands’ $1million wedding rings.

The dazzling necklace, inspired by the four characters in The Tales of Hoffmann took meticulous planning, detailed sketching, and relentless crafting in K’dor’s atelier.

A spectacular 7.11ct round brilliant cut diamond represents Olympia; a 1.90ct Red Garnet for Antonia; a 8.22ct teal coloured Sapphire for Giulietta; and a rare 26ct ‘Red on Black Opal’ for Stella, with a unique harlequin pattern reflecting iridescent colours.

These gemstones are complemented by 120 additional brilliant cut natural diamonds, all set in 18ct white gold.

The homage to Australian heritage, with its use of Australian gemstones, further establishes a connection between the jewel, the opera star, and the place of her performance.

Expressing her excitement, Jessica Pratt said, ‘Being honoured by the creation of this incredible necklace to celebrate my performance in Opera Australia’s Hoffmann, truly makes me feel special.

‘The attention to detail and the symbolism behind the design make it even more meaningful.’

The Tales of Hoffmann, conceived by French-German composer Jacques Offenbach in the late 1870s, intertwines drama with fantasy, recounting a tale of love, desire, and poetry.
