Facebook takes down killer dad’s profile after his page was inundated with people calling him ‘scum’

Facebook has removed an evil dad’s profile after it was inundated with furious messages when he burned his three children alive and stabbed himself in the chest.

Failed NRL player Rowan Charles Baxter, 42, died after killing his family by dousing them in petrol and setting them alight at Camp Hill in Brisbane’s south-east on Wednesday.

Aaliyah, 6, Laianah, 4, and Trey, 3, all died inside their mother Hannah Clarke’s car on their way to school. Ms Clarke died from her injuries in hospital on Wednesday night.

After the horrific murder-suicide, the fitness fanatic’s Facebook page was flooded with thousands of hate messages.

By Thursday night the Facebook page was removed from the site.

Prior to the deactivation Baxter’s account had been turned into a memorial page.

Ms Clarke’s has not yet been given the same treatment.

Social media users took to Baxter’s page before it was taken down to express their anger at his actions.

‘Enjoy hell, you dirty, evil, possessive b*****d,’ one person wrote.

‘Eternal suffering is still not enough for you.’

‘I am atheist, but with my heart I hope I am wrong and that there is a hell for monsters like this,’ one woman wrote.

‘He deserves to burn for eternity. Rest in peace the mother and the three beautiful innocent children. So sickeningly sad.’

Another added: ‘Such horror. There’s a dark place in hell for someone who sets their children on fire. Bless their and their mother’s souls. They deserved so much more.’

One person simply asked, underneath a picture of one of his young daughters: ‘How can you take a life so precious?’

One woman said: ‘Do not feel sorry for this man – don’t make excuses for him and say he was suffering mental health issues over the break up of his marriage.

‘This man is a murderer, a coward, a control freak, a face of domestic violence.’

Baxter littered his social media pages with pictures of his children, calling them ‘his world’ just weeks before he was to burn them alive.

It comes as a brave builder working near the murder-suicide spoke out about his desperate attempts to save the children’s lives.

Along with his brother, the worker sprinted to the scene of Wednesday’s massacre and tried to free the children as their car became engulfed by flames.

He burned his hand trying to pry the car door open to rescue the kids, after seeing their badly burned mother crying out for help.

‘Me and my brother were down here working, he saw some smoke and started running. I naturally followed and yelled out for the boys,’ he told Sunrise.

‘As we got out there, the car’s on fire and there’s a lady on the ground screaming and a fella standing there on fire.

‘I ran up and started putting him out, he kind of flinched and ran in shock. The lady was screaming on the ground “help me”.’

He recalled how he rushed to Ms Clarke’s side to try and help her, where she mustered the strength to tell him about her three children.

‘I went over to try and help her and she finally said to me “there are kids in the car”,’ he said.

He sprinted to the car to try and save the children, but when he opened the door – they were already dead.

It is understood the couple had broken up last year after 11 years of marriage.

The horrific incident took place near Ms Clarke’s parents’ home, where she had been staying with the children.

The couple were working through a custody battle after their separation.

On Thursday morning, Ms Clarke’s brother and her sister-in-law slammed her ‘disgusting’ killer.

In a moving Instagram post, her brother Nathaniel Clarke said he had recently reconnected with her and revealed she had told family she was looking forward to a ‘great’ year.

‘Yesterday day I had my sister, nephew and two nieces taken from me in the worst way possible by a heartless monster they called their dad,’ Mr Clarke wrote.

‘Everyone who has been lucky enough to be a part of their lives would know just how sweet and loving these kids and my sister really were.

‘The last thing my sister said to my wife was ‘I’m so excited this year will be great’.’

Mr Clarke said his parents had ‘given everything they own’ to fund his sister’s custody battle with her killer.

He added: ‘I’m so grateful she and I got to reconnect and become such close friends before this tragedy. I will forever love you all.’

He tries to stop neighbours from saving his wife and children before dying in the street.

Ms Clarke escapes the burning car and screams: ‘He’s poured petrol on me.’

Horrified witnesses see her skin peeling off her body.

She is rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

WHO WAS ROWAN BAXTER?

Rowan Baxter was an ex-NRL player once contracted to the New Zealand Warriors.

He was a member of the President’s Selection 2005 pre-season team and worked in the sports and fitness industry for the last 20 years of his life.

He was raised in Tauranga, on New Zealand’s North Island, before moving to Australia.

Baxter lived in Brisbane alongside his wife, Hannah, and three children until as recently as late last year, when the couple separated.

The 42-year-old opened a gym, Intergr8 and CrossFit SMC in Capalaba, with his wife, but the pair closed it down as they worked through their split.

Ex-Brisbane Broncos players Sam Thaiday and Matt Gillett have been known to train in the gym.

The ex-sportsman’s business website described him as an accomplished body weight trainer for NRL and AFL teams.

Unsuspecting family and friends believed he was a loving and dedicated father.
