Falkirk teen’s self-tanner mishap imprints ‘Adidas’ on leg

Fake tanning can be a tricky business, particularly if you’re trying to ensure a natural, streak-free look.

But as one teenager recently discovered, there are many more potential mishaps to be faced when you try and mix a fake tanning session with a good workout.

Eve Mallon, from Falkirk, Scotland, took to Twitter to reveal that she was embarrassingly left with the word ‘Adidas’ imprinted on one leg after the logo of her workout leggings awkwardly rubbed off her self tanner, leaving her with a very pale pattern down one calf.

Thankfully, Eve seemed to have a pretty light-hearted approach to her fake tan fail, posting an image of her now-branded leg on the social media site, while poking fun at the mishap.

‘That’s the last time a work out with tan on by the way ahahah,’ she captioned her photo, which was first posted on October 1.

And her post found applause and resonance with masses of followers as it quickly racked up nearly 5,000 tweets and over 43,000 likes.

‘Omg that used to happen to me all the time!’ Twitter user Grace wrote.

‘Not being funny but this actually happened to me at a dance comp, was traumatic had me dance school logo on me leg from me leggings man,’ fellow bronzing fan Amy shared.

After another girl confessed the same thing happened to her and added a photo of her fiasco, fans were in a flurry of amusement.

One self-tanning expert decided to drop in her two cents about how to avoid another mishap.

‘Girl you gotta wear loose clothing after getting a tan. I work in a tanning salon, loose clothes will literally be your best friend after,’ she wrote.

‘Also totally not supposed to do any activity that could cause you to sweat as it’ll get rid of your tan,’ she addded.

‘Omg it’s happening everywhere,’ a fan from Edinburgh added.

‘This is why I don’t work out,’ a girl Olivia said.

While some fans were taking notes on the best way to apply the beauty bronzing routine, other saw it as a prime opportunity to snag a sponsorship from the famous sportswear brand.

‘Yo contact they’ve to sponsor you,’ a wise man Raiden wrote.

Another fan added ‘you deserve a sponsorship’ and tagged the brand in their post.

‘This will be a Spring/Summer look for 2018. Quote me,’ another user added on the bare-skin Adidas look.

And the famed athletics company finally got the message and responded with a playful tweet.

‘We’d say it’s fate. Way to rep the Three Stripes, Eve. We see you,’ its official tweet read.

‘Sooo, does this mean I get free stuff?’ she cheekily responded.

While she tried for a sponsorship, one wary follower called her out for getting too close to the corporate world.

‘Capitalism branded onto your skin,’ user Jessica warned.

Unfortunately the teenager hasn’t heard word since on the potential future of a collaboration but has enjoyed a moment of fame in the Twitter spotlight.
