Family vlogger wins Celebrity Dad of the Year after he filmed his life every day for NINE YEARS

A father-of-four who has spent the last nine years vlogging has life has snatched the crown of Clas Ohlson’s Celebrity Dad of the Year.

Jonathan Saccone Joly, 39, from Surrey, beat competition from famous fathers including Prince William, Danny Dyer and Declan Donnelly.

The YouTuber and father-of-four has over four million followers who follow his daily exploits with wife Anna, 31, and four children Emilia, 6, Eduardo, 5, Alessia, 2, and newest addition Andrea.

But he said it wasn’t always easy to share his video diary, recalling the moment the couple discovered they’d lost their third baby after a miscarriage as particularly difficult.

Johnathan has filmed his daily life since 2010, initially using it as a way to impress his then-girlfriend Anna.

But as their lives progressed through marriage and children, their social following grew.

Now the couple have over four million followers and rub shoulders with other YouTube sensations like Zoella and Tanya Burr.

He revealed he’s rarely stuck for ideas on what to film, as life in the Saccone-Joly house is busy.

He said: ‘Life as a parent to four kids and six dogs never brings a dull day.’

‘I’ve always just shared my real life experience. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, but it’s always real and I think that is what has kept so many people watching my videos all these years.’

Initially the vlogger aimed to see if his videos could pay his rent, before seeing if they could match his salary.

In 2011, he packed in his day job  and started life as ‘a full time vlogger.’

Johnathan revealed that initially his family ‘thought he was mad’, explaining: ‘Whenever we had family events I would subtly be asked not to bring my vlog with me.

‘My mom would make comments about me wasting my degree and needing to get a real job.’

He was finally ‘given the approving nod’ when he appeared on a television programme his mother knew.

But he admitted it hasn’t always been easy to share to much of his life, particularly when he and Anna lost their third baby.

He explained: ‘The hardest video we accidentally filmed and then chose to share, was the miscarriage of our third baby.

‘In all the excitement. I set up a camera to catch the first moment we were to hear our baby’s heart beat and see his or her little self. But we ended up getting the news that it was not to be, and that our little baby was not going to make it.’

He went on: ‘We didn’t share that video for a few weeks because we didn’t know what to do. How do you let a million people know bad news?’

The couple ultimately decided to share their journey and grief online, with the hope that it would help other couples who were going through the same thing.
