Fan who says she was raped by ex-JLS star Oritse WIlliams ‘was seen bouncing on his lap’

Former JLS star Oritse Williams arrives at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday

A woman who claims she was raped by former JLS star Oritse Williams could be seen bouncing on his lap and kissing a female friend as they downed shots in a nightclub, a court heard today.

The pop star was captured on CCTV slapping the 20-year-old fan’s bottom as they danced together in a VIP area hours before she was allegedly attacked.

The 32-year-old singer from Croydon, South London, is accused of raping the woman after plying her with alcohol and inviting her back to his hotel room in the early hours of December 2, 2016.

Williams is on trial alongside his tour manager Jamien Nagadhana, 32, of Hounslow, West London.

Today, the Wolverhampton Crown Court jury saw CCTV footage from inside the city’s Gorgeous nightclub, where Williams had just performed a solo gig.

It showed the alleged victim and her friends clinking glasses as they necked shots with the star and danced together.

At one point the footage shows Williams trying to join in as the complainant is kissing her friend before the pop star slaps her on the bottom.

The woman and her friend then leave the club in a taxi back to the city’s Ramada Hotel, where the alleged attack took place.

Williams, who was on The X Factor in 2008, is accused of raping the woman after she went back to his hotel room to fetch her phone.

Detective Constable Sarah Phillips, of West Midlands Police, talked jurors through the nightclub’s CCTV footage as it was shown to the court.

She said: ‘They all appear to be helping themselves to the alcoholic drinks. Mr Williams is stood in the corner talking to one of the friends of the victim and she is a tall blonde with long legs.

‘The girls then move over to sit down on the other side of the VIP room. Mr Williams then sits down with girls and starts talking to them.

‘He then stands up and goes over to the bar. Mr Williams then comes back with shots, and they are then drank by the whole group.

‘Each one of the girls stands up and does a twirl and sits back down. One of the girls who does a twirl get slapped on the bum by one of the other girls and then sits back down.

‘The photographer who sat down with them, then hi-fives Williams. More shots are drunk and classes are clinked between the group.

‘The girls then stand and start dancing back to back. As one of the girl sits she slaps the other girls’ bottoms. Williams stands up and joins in the dancing.

‘One of the girls starts kissing one of the others girls, whilst Williams is stood there watching.

‘The victim then sits on Williams’ lap after he sits down and starts bouncing on him, whilst he has his hands on her hips.

‘Then the other girls then sit on them, so there is five of them sat on top of each other.

‘The victim is then being kissed by one of her friends and then Mr Williams tries to join in the kissing while Mr Nagadhana is sat next to them watching.

‘Mr Williams then pulls the victim by the arm to him, she falls on his lap and he slaps her on the bottom and Mr Nagadhana slaps her on the bottom too.

‘The girls then all stand up and leave the VIP area. Outside the nightclub you can see that Williams has his arm around the woman.

‘The woman can be seen holding on to the barrier next to them, whilst Mr Williams is on his phone. Two of the girls can be seen getting into a taxi and leaving.

‘Then Williams, Nagadhana, the victim and her friend are seen getting into a white taxi and drive off.’

The girls ended up in the room Williams was sharing with Nagadhana and at one point started cuddling on the bed, jurors were told.

The court heard Williams then took this opportunity to try and have sex with one of the girls, who were described by hotel staff as looking ‘spaced out and zombified’.

Prosecutor Miranda Moore QC said the victim made it clear she didn’t want to sleep with Williams and both women ran out into the hotel corridor.

One of them returned to the room as she had lost her phone, which ‘was a grave mistake’ as Williams allegedly picked the woman up and put her down on the double bed.

He then took off her underwear and started performing a sex act while groping her before going on to rape her, it is alleged.

In her taped police interview, the woman said: ‘In the blink of an eye my pants were off. The whole time I was telling him to get off me, ‘f*** off ‘, but he was not having it.

‘He was making gross remarks about my body. I was crying, I could not comprehend it any more. It was horrible, not feeling like you have any self control in your body. It was really bad. I lay like a dead body for a bit. I just wanted it to be over.’

Williams denies rape while Nagadhana has pleaded not guilty to sexual touching and assault by penetration. The trial continues.
