But Gemma Collins is starting 2018 as she means to go on, embarking on healthy eating and fitness plan with a vengeance, as well as treating herself to a makeover, shortly after dismissing romance rumours with James ‘Arg’ Argent.
The TOWIE star, 36, was inundated with compliments when she flaunted her chic new bob and glossy makeover on Instagram on Wednesday.

Gemma posted: ‘So today I felt so rough but so determined to carry on my resolutions and health plan I still went gym and then thought I need some new Hair and some hot Make up because I have to deliver on [camera] so thank you to the magic fairy’s @chloesbeautybaressex and @cozza43 for pulling me out of bed this afternoon #bestfreindforever (sic).’
Her fans were quick to praise her sleek new look, showering her with compliments and words of encouragement.
One enthused, ‘Looks so much better with short hair’, while another wrote, ‘Wow you look stunning’, and a third wrote, ‘Your hair looks much nicer like that’.
Gemma has also been posting regular updates about her gym workouts and sharing snaps of her healthy meals, enthusing, ‘so FOCUSED making time for ME’.
The bubbly blonde and her on/off flame Arg – who she has held a candle for since they dated in 2012 – were recently spotted kissing on the street in Marbella, but they have insisted they are just friends.
A representative for Gemma quickly shut down any relationship gossip with Arg, telling MailOnline: ‘They are good friends, but nothing more. Arg is relocating to Spain and Gemma agreed to help him find a home as she knows the area well.’
Yet Arg delighted TOWIE viewers by finally confessing his feelings for Gemma in the show’s Christmas special.
With the potential romancing brewing, it could jeopardise the starlet’s turn on Celebs Go Dating, as the whole premise of the show revolves around the famous names being single.
If the whispers of romance turn out to be true, the plus-size clothing pioneer could find herself booted off the show.
And it wouldn’t be the first time – Just Tattoo of Us co-host Stephan Bear found himself uninvited to a single’s mixer during the last week of the show and was unceremoniously sent packing after his secret relationship with Geordie Shore beauty Charlotte Crosby came to light in March.
