Fans have ripped into Piers Morgan for suggesting France’s team were ‘deliberately poisoned’ ahead of the World Cup final.
After France went 2-0 down, Morgan tweeted: ‘It wasn’t a virus, the French team clearly got deliberately poisoned’, in response to the poor performance from Didier Deschamps’ side.
Fans on social media have laid into the 57-year-old, branding him ’embarrassing’ and linking his apparent desire for Lionel Messi not to win the World Cup to his relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo.
