Fans SLAM Scott Cam for calling Shaynna Blaze a bit*h

He’s the lovable star who’s hosted The Block for the last 11 seasons.

But on Sunday night, Scott Cam, 54, found himself under fire when he referred to judge Shaynna Blaze as a bit*h after she scored some of the teams ‘harshly’.

And although using the derogatory term in a light-hearted manner, it wasn’t long before Twitter users were up in arms over the comment.

‘@ScottyCam9 there are no excuses for calling @ShaynnaBlaze a “bit*h”. You owe her an unconditional apology. #theblock #familyshow,’ wrote one unhappy viewers.

And in a week that’s seen the network in the deep end for their alleged gender inequality, one fan revealed they’d made a formal complaint to the network as not only did he use the ‘rude’ term, but only directed it to Shaynna – leaving out her male counterparts.

‘Calling @ShaynnaBlaze a bit*ch on prime tv is a backward step and rude,’ they wrote.

‘No one called any of the male judges a derogatory name and then laughed about it. #misogyny.’

And speaking exclusively to Daily Mail it seems as though Scott is regretful for what he said.

‘I’ve called Shaynna today and whilst my comments were said in the jest I do regret saying that because it’s disrespectful & not how I feel about Shaynna at all,’ he said.

Scott: 'I respect Shaynna enormously & the fact is that as judges, Shaynna, Neale & Darren have a tough job of critiquing rooms/spaces and someone will often feel hard done by if they don¿t receive the scores they are hoping for'

Also commenting, the Nine Network also apologised to fans.

‘Scott and Shaynna are great mates and there was no hurt or insult intended by anyone however we do apologise if that was how it was interpreted,’ they added.
