Peak wedding season might be June to September, but invitations are still landing on our doormats. Whether it’s a destination wedding or an autumnal ceremony at home, there are plenty of styles landing on the high street to ensure you’re the best dressed guest!

And we’re not short of celebrity inspiration either. Pippa Middleton recently wore a dreamy red Phase Eight dress to a wedding in Italy, plus Michelle Dockery’s big day saw the likes of Lily James rock up in the ‘Evelyn’ dress by Erdem and Phoebe Waller-Bridge looking extremely chic in a three-piece Etro suit.

 Romantic ruffles

We’re still thinking about this red dress, which the Princess of Wales’ sister Pippa wore to a wedding in Lake Como earlier this month.

Style it with chandelier earrings and swept-up hair to allow the frills to do all the talking.

Be quick, it’s sure to sell out!

A great match for the £2995 Erdem dress that Lily James wore to her Downton Abbey co-star Michelle Dockery’s wedding, this tiered triumph from Reiss is truly a statement piece.

You’ll never go too far wrong with florals and the long sleeves make it perfect for a wintry wedding.

Tailoring is a refreshing choice for a wedding, and a great way to avoid wearing the same dress as the bridesmaids or another guest.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you’ll have seen waistcoats everywhere, so why stop at just a blazer and trousers? We all know good things come in threes!

Pastel shades will soften the tailoring, plus after the wedding you can mix and match each piece, meaning a whole load of new wardrobe options. Winner!

Sharp tailoring

Our instinct is to reach for a dress when attending a wedding, but Phoebe Waller-Bridge made a very strong case for getting suited and booted when she watched her brother Jasper marry Michelle Dockery.

Her pink blazer, matching waistcoat and trousers by Etro will set you back a whopping £2385 in total, but this soft pink set by COLLUSION at Asos will totally do the trick.

PWB added PVC heels by Alaia with a red heart in the front. Love!

This Coast tuxedo dress is a refreshing twist on traditional tailoring, and would be a great option for a mother of the bride.

The soft sage colour is very flattering, and there’s something very Kate Middleton about a coat dress.

Black tie weddings are increasingly popular, which is a nice excuse to get all glammed up. And you don’t have to fork out a fortune!

RSVP, then head to River Island and Amazon…

Black tie glamour

Maya dresses are super popular, both for bridesmaids and black tie dress codes.

The sequin embellished bodice and sleeves will catch the light on the dancefloor beautifully, and we love this autumnal berry colour.

Corsages are still a huge trend – and so is wearing black to a wedding.

Timelessly elegant and easy to wear, this £55 frock will look amazing with swept-up hair, sparkly earrings and barely there heels.

To hat or not to hat? That’s the question. On the one hand, you rarely get to don a fancy bit of headwear, but on the other hand is a bit old-fashioned?

Boaters and headbands are the answer to all your questions.

Top it all off

Phoebe Waller-Bridge accessorised her Etro suit with an amazing boater hat, and this one from Emily-London’s collaboration with Karen Millen will make sure you turn heads at your next wedding.

Just practise greeting fellow guests with a kiss on the cheek beforehand. It’s a real skill.

If you’ve not got a head for hats and you don’t love fascinators, a headband is the way forward.

The veil on this add plenty of drama, and the sale price seals the deal!
