Father attacked baby daughter in West Sydney home

A father is accused of brutally bashing his premature 18-month-old daughter inside their home.

The alleged attack was caught on a baby monitor camera in their home in Austral, in Sydney’s west, earlier in February.

The baby’s mother put it in the living room because she suspected the father-of-four, 28, was cheating on her.

Shocking footage captured by the camera allegedly shows him kicking her, picking her up, shaking her, shouting and threw her across the room, the child’s uncle told 7News

The film has not been released because its content is too harrowing to show and the family’s identity is being protected for legal reasons.

The 28-year-old allegedly flew into a rage when the baby picked up a TV remote. hHer three siblings were also in the room.

‘I don’t know how he done it. I don’t know what was going through his head,’ the child’s uncle added.

‘It’s just not human, it’s your own daughter. You couldn’t even do that to an animal.

‘They depend on you, so they’re helpless. It’s pretty disgusting.’

The baby was born prematurely and has been in hospital for a fortnight in Liverpool under the care of specialist doctors.

But it is not thought her ordeal will leave her with any permanent damage.

The toddler and her brothers and sisters have now been taken into foster care while the case progresses through the courts.

The man is due in court next month and has been remanded in custody.
