A father lovingly crafted an incredible cosplay outfit that he could wear with his daughters out of pieces of plastic, foam and a few electronics.

Jack Thompson, 40, spent five months cutting pieces of plastic, spray painting and piecing them together at his home in Edmonton, Canada, to make a sci-fi machine.

And he spent $450CAD creating the costume that could accommodate both himself and his daughters inside at the same time.

Jack Thompson, 40, spent five months cutting pieces of plastic, spray painting and piecing them together at his home in Edmonton, Canada, to make a sci-fi machine for his daughters

Taking sci-fi machines including Power Rangers’ Megazords, Mechwarriors, and Transformers as inspiration Mr Thompson built a costume for his two daughters.

nd playing around with buttons that control lights and toy missiles, Mr Thompson carries them.

Standing hidden in the back of the costume Mr Thompson operates the legs by walking around, and makes it move up and down by standing and crouching.

The biggest ‘thrill’ Mr Thompson gets out of his creation is the reaction from mind-blown onlookers and his children.

Jack said: ‘It was thrilling to see people’s reaction when my daughters would get in and out.

‘Most people thought the pilot was a doll, and then they were shocked when they realised that I was inside, doing all the carrying.

‘My children feel very lucky that they have a Dad who can make a costume that they can ride in.’

The video shows his daughters sitting in the front of the machine as Mr Thompson carries them along the side of the road while inside.

It then cuts to the creation process.

Mr Thompson has to cut the correct shapes out of plastic, fit it all together, organise the electronic aspects and solder the pieces together.

Showing the pieces drying in his garden he explains how he is getting a metallic effect from the paint.

‘I’ve brought my plastic pieces out again and I have started painting. It seems funny to be painting it back to the original colour but it’s a little bit different,’ he tells the camera during construction.

‘I’m using this can called rust because its the only paint that was the right colour that I want.

He then shows himself fitting the electronics in to his machine's base - pushing the cables inside and screwing a light bulb in to create the hazard lights

‘It doesn’t show up too well on camera here but it does give a good metallic look.’

‘And we’ve got the hazard lights all installed,’ he says.

As the video cuts to his daughters standing in military-style combat gear and dark sunglasses the various different lights on the costume are shown.

These can all be operated using a control pad in front of the control seat.
