Father finds THREE fingers in rare limited-edition Cadbury Orange Twirl

Samuel May, 27, discovered his Orange Twirl bar contained three chocolate fingers instead of two after buying a ‘chunkier’ looking chocolate bar at the Transfer Bridges Country Road Retail Park, Swindon

A father was stunned after he found three fingers in an extremely rare Cadbury Orange Twirl chocolate bar in Wiltshire.

Samuel May, 27, bought the Orange Twirl for 49p and was immediately alarmed by the ‘chunkier’ wrapper.

Mr May, of Swindon in Wiltshire, says he picked up a couple of the citrus infused chocolate bars from B&M at the Transfer Bridges Country Road Retail Park, Swindon, as he ‘had been looking for ages’ and couldn’t find them anywhere.

The chocolate bar, which is sold at 65p, has sent the internet into meltdown as some shoppers claim the Orange Twirl is a ‘myth’ because it is so difficult to get hold of. This has led others to try and profit and have resell the bars for up to £500.

Mr May said: ‘They were by the tills when I got there. So I was quite excited to have found them and I picked up a couple for me and my partner.

‘We didn’t realise until we got home then I spotted one was chunkier, which I thought was strange.

‘I was just holding it and could feel there were in fact three fingers in it. One on top of the other two. It’s mad isn’t it?’

The father-of-three, who is married to Catrina Fletcher, 31, was left baffled about struggling to find the bars ‘and then pick[ing] the first one up and it’s got three fingers’.

Samuel, who founded Bring Back Oliver’s Smile charity, said he may share the bar with his youngest daughter Nalah.

He added: ‘I’ve got an eight-month-old who likes sucking on chocolate at the moment so I may give it to her to enjoy. It’s just one of those funny things.

‘It would be nice if it was the only one in the world. Hopefully there’s more good luck to come, now is a good time to buy a lottery ticket.’

A spokeswoman for Cadbury said: ‘The reaction to the launch of Cadbury Twirl Orange has been incredible and the product is in very high demand across the country.’

They admitted the Wiltshire man ‘hit the jackpot’ but ‘can’t promise there will be any more to come’.

Since the rare find, Mr May has been invited on to the BBC to talk about his Twirl.

While people anticipated the orange infused bar as a ‘complete game changer’ and their weakness for the flavour, shoppers have become convinced the bar is a ‘myth’ because it is so difficult to get hold of.

One chocolate lover wrote on Twitter: ‘Starting to wonder if these alleged Orange Twirls are actually real or not. Have been in most shops in the southwest of England trying to find one.’

A box of 48 of the limited edition Orange bar is allegedly being sold for £80 on eBay as people try to flog the rare product.

Some shoppers have claimed the bar is a ‘myth’ after failing to get their hands on the bar at their local store.

And some cheeky customers have even tried selling 240 bars for £700, or 48 for £100.
