Father of a man accused of killing his girlfriend once threatened to cut his own wife’s throat

The father of a man, who allegedly killed his girlfriend in a jealous rage, once threatened to cut his own wife’s throat and kill himself during a standoff with police in 2010.

Jason Clark is the father of Brandon Clark, 21, who allegedly slit his girlfriend Bianca Devins’ throat and posted a photo of her body on Instagram.

Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara released a possible motive for the killing on Tuesday, saying: ‘The belief is that she kissed somebody at a concert and that’s what upset him.’

Jason, who has had his own run-ins with the law, apologized to the victim’s family, saying that while Brandon was raised right, ‘there was some dysfunction’, according to CNY Central.

Oswego County Court records show that Jason was in a 10-hour standoff with Fulton police in 2010.

At that time, he had threatened to kill his wife by holding a knife to her throat.

In 1996, Jason was convicted of assault and two years later he was arrested for burglary. In 2002, Jason was convicted of attempted criminal possession of a forged instrument.

His son, Brandon, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday morning after he reportedly tried to kill himself.

Devins, a social media star, was killed that same morning just before Brandon tried to stab himself in the neck.

The 17-year-old’s neck had been snapped and slashed, police said.

Authorities said that there is no indication right now that Brandon was influenced to kill Devins because of what his father threatened to do in 2010.

A message sent by Devins shortly before she was brutally murdered have revealed her killer’s jealousy.

She wrote on gamer chat site Discord, where the pair first met two months ago, that she had kissed a man and held hands with him at a concert – but her ‘friend’, thought to be Clark, caught them and was ‘mad’.

Devins posted the message in a chat at 5.47am on Sunday and by 7am, when police in Utica, New York, were called, she was dead.

The messages sent on Discord, a service that allows gamers to communicate with each other via video, audio or text, reveal she had grown closer to the other man throughout the evening.

She told her friend the evening was going well, saying: ‘Hahaha. No he’s perfect. I’m in love.’

Devins then wrote: ‘We held hands my friend is so [sic] mad. He saw us kiss. I kissed him twice.’

Utica Police Lieutenant Bryan Coromato said they received a call on Sunday morning that led them to the crime scene.

‘We got a call from one of the parents that was concerned about some things that were occurring in the relationship at this point,’ he said.

Devins’ sister scotched rumors that the pair had only just met and that Brandon was simply an ‘internet boyfriend’.

She wrote on Instagram ‘it wasn’t just an ‘internet boyfriend’ this was a close family friend whom we’ve met and trusted so much. I do not want false information spread around’.

On Saturday, Devins and Brandon had gone to a Nicole Dollenganger concert then driven back to Utica at around 10pm. Brandon was driving.

He then allegedly snapped and slit his girlfriend’s throat.

Brandon posted a photo of her body to Instagram with the caption: ‘I’m sorry Bianca.’

The social media site has been criticized in recent days for failing to remove it for almost a day.

According to a friend of the pair's, they had been at a concert and had gone home where he got angry and stabbed her because he was jealous she had flirted with another man

He also allegedly posted a photo on a server on Discord, with the caption: ‘Sorry fuckers, you’re gonna have to find someone else to orbit.’

Orbit is an internet slang term for stalking a woman’s social media profile who you are sexually interested in.

After photos of her body emerged online, numerous people called 911 to report it. Police were already trying to find the pair when he called 911 himself.

Police arrived at the scene on Sunday morning to find Clark lying on the ground beside a black SUV.

When the officer approached, he began to stab himself in the neck with a knife.

The officer requested emergency medical care as Clark then laid himself across a green tarp that was on the ground.

He was subsequently taken to hospital for emergency surgery, with his injuries described as ‘severe’ but not life-threatening.
