Shattered family and friends have shared tributes and fond memories they had with Mr Green online.

‘Brother you will be missed. RIP Mayor you will never be forgotten,’ one person wrote.

Another of Mr Green’s friends said she was still in shock and couldn’t believe he had died.

‘I wish this was all a bad dream you deserved to grow old not go out like this,’ she said.

‘Some of your last words last night were ‘I don’t think I’m a good bloke I’m just a honest bloke with a big f***ing heart’. I think you were both.

‘Those words keep running through my head.’
