A three-year-old boy allegedly saw his father get shot in the arm and head with an air rifle.
Emergency services were called to a property at Jindera, about 17km north of Albury, on the New South Wales-Victorian border, just after 1pm on May 10.

The man had a three-year-old boy with him at the time, but he wasn’t injured during the ordeal, police said.
The 48-year-old was treated by ambulance paramedics and remarkably didn’t need to go to hospital.
A 37-year-old man was arrested over the incident at a Rangeview Drive property.
He was later taken to Albury Police Station.
A police statement said the 37-year-old has since been charged with: ‘fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property, possess unauthorised firearm and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.’
The man was also charged with various drug offences including possess prohibited drug and possession of equipment for administering prohibited drugs.
The 37-year-old was refused bail.
He is expected to appear at Albury Local Court on May 11.
