A dad-to-be who brought his entire gaming system to the hospital while his partner spent 21 hours waiting for labor to start after being induced has divided opinion. 

Amber Scott, 28, from Las Vegas went viral on TikTok when she shared a video of her partner engrossed by the screen after setting up a gaming station on the ward. 

In the clip, which has since gained 45,000 likes and 3,200 comments, her boyfriend can be seen in the foreground playing while she lies in the hospital bed behind her phone.

Some viewers were outraged by the situation with some branding him a ‘red flag’, while others claimed they would do the same thing, and that he couldn’t be expected to just sit watching his partner for 21 hours.

Amber captioned the clip: ‘My boyfriend brought his entire gaming system to the hospital during my 21-hour long induction.’ 

Some commenters were completely on her boyfriend’s side and revealed they thought their was nothing wrong with bringing a little entertainment. 

One person said: ‘I mean I see no problem. 21 hours is a long time, and guess what people, you can put a controller down when needed. 

‘So long as he gives her as much as she wants and supports her when needed there’s no problem.

‘Hospitals are BORING AS HELL,’ one wrote, while another person agreed, saying: ‘I would allow this so I could watch.’

While a third wrote: ‘I would’ve done the same thing.’

A fellow supporter asked if he was expected to ‘sit there for 21 hours staring at her’ and said that it was probably ‘entertaining’ for her to watch him.  

Others, however, didn’t see the funny side and thought Amber’s boyfriend was being disrespectful.

One person said: ‘That’s sad how video games are taking over people’s lives.’

Another said sarcastically: ‘That’s exciting. What he will be doing once the baby is born too? Gaming while you are taking care of all of the babies needs.’

And a third person wrote: ‘You will be raising this kid on your own… too busy gaming!’
