A 15-year-old girl has been missing for more than 48 hours as her mother admitted she was growing ‘increasingly worried’ for her daughter.

Ellie-Mae Hackett was last seen on Easter Sunday at about 5pm in Swindon town centre, but Wiltshire Police believe she may now be in the Bristol area.

Her mother Simone Hackett, who is a trainee nursing associate, has appealed directly to her daughter to get in touch.

She said: ‘We are growing increasingly worried and we are desperate to hear from her. We are out searching in the hope that someone has seen her.

‘Ellie, if you are reading this then please get in touch with someone to let us know you are OK.

‘We are all so worried and we just want to have you safely back home. Please, please Ellie, just let us know that you are safe. We love you and we just want you back.’

Police have already issued two appeals as concerns grow for the welfare of Ellie-Mae, who was last seen near the Groves Company Inn pub on Fleet Street in Swindon.

Her mother, who is studying at the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery and working for Great Western Hospitals, added that Ellie-Mae is ‘extremely vulnerable’.

Ms Hackett and Ellie-Mae’s sister Megan, 22, have both been posting appeals on Facebook. Police say she could have got a train to the Cabot Circus area of Bristol.
