A missing nursing home carer who texted her step-mother saying ‘all fine – love you’ three hours before she vanished on a night out has been found safe and well.

Katie Whiteford, 25, had been out celebrating a friend’s birthday and initially said she would be home at 10pm.

But she contacted step-mother Angela Chambers at midnight, telling her she was going on to another bar in Bournemouth, Dorset.

She was last seen at 3am in a ‘very drunk’ state outside the Vodka Revolution venue.

But after a missing person’s case was launched and a massive social media appeal Katie has been found.

Her step-mum Angela Chambers, from Bournemouth, shared on Facebook the message ‘Katie’s home’.

Her sister Nikki Morton said Katie had ‘just turned up’ but she did not know where she had been.

Her friends said they saw Katie talking to three strange women before she mysteriously disappeared.

At the time her mobile phone had run out of battery and she had also spent all of her money.

Katie, who lives in Winchester, Hampshire, was meant to have stayed the night at her step-mother’s house 1.5 miles away in Boscombe but never turned up.

Relatives said Katie’s disappearance was completely out of character.

Before she was eventually found, a distraught Mrs Chambers, 39, today begged her step-daughter to make contact with her or the police.

She said: ‘She went out to a party on Saturday with her workmates and was initially meant to be back at 10pm.

Katie's disappearance is said to be completely out of character. She is also very active on social media and it is unlike her to be offline for so long

‘She ended up going out to another party afterwards but she texted me while she was out saying ‘everything was fine, I’m okay, love you.’

‘That was the last time I heard from her.

‘The people I’ve spoken to who were out with her have said she was very drunk and last seen at about 3 o’clock.

‘She has no history of going missing like this at all and this is completely out of character for her.

‘If I could speak to her now I’d tell her to just get in touch, we’re all so worried about her.

‘We just want her back safe and well and we’re trying to remain as positive as possible.’

Katie used to live in Bournemouth until two months ago when she moved to Winchester following the break up of a relationship.

She returned to the seaside resort on Saturday evening for a night out with work friends.
