Police are urgently appealing to help trace a vulnerable schoolgirl who has disappeared from her home.

Leila Belacel, 14, from Croydon, south London,  is described as ‘vulnerable’ and ‘high risk’ by police who have launched an urgent appeal to trace her.

She went missing from her home yesterday and was last sighted in Catford.

She is described as high-risk and Met Police are asking the public to contact them immediately with any information which could help bring her home.

The 14-year-old is known to frequent Southwark and Lewisham, and police in those boroughs have been alerted to her disappearance.

She was last seen in the Catford area yesterday.

Croydon police officers tweeted an appeal for the youngster today,June 26, saying: ‘High risk missing person – Leila Belacel, 14 years old #Missing from #Croydon. Frequents #Lewisham.   

‘If seen please call 02086490145 or 101 & quote 18MIS025322.’
