The dramatic impact of a crash between two cars – after a driver turned into an intersection – has been captured on dashcam footage.

One driver said she broke her wrist after the airbags deployed on impact during the incident at the intersection of York Road and Ikin Street in Sydney’s west.

Footage of the crash between the two sedans on Friday, July 27, was posted to the Facebook page, Dash Cam Owners, on Sunday.

Screams were heard after the driver of a blue sedan pulled out of a side street suddenly, hitting the car travelling on York Road, Jamisontown.

 ‘A lady pulled out of the intersection and I ran into her. I ended up with a broken wrist from the airbags deploying on my hand, I am okay,’ the woman said. 

‘The other lady hit her head on her window, airbag deployed.

‘She also cut her knee, she is okay. Ambulance, fire and police were called to the scene.’

‘Now if you are a good driver you get prepared and slow down or back off a bit until you see what is happening at the intersection. You don’t just keep going flat out,’ one person said. 

‘Defensive driving would have backed of a bit and could have avoided the (driver) who pulled out – just saying,’ another person said. 

Another person observed: ‘Nobody noticed that the car turning left across unbroken line caused the crash it should have turned left from the lane it was in.’
